BRIDGE-AI focuses on improving productivity, resource efficiency and climate resilience while promoting digital inclusion and innovation. Through participatory approaches and Living Labs, farmers and local stakeholders will actively contribute to the design, testing and validation of the solutions, ensuring that they respond to local needs and realities.
Coordinated by Eurecat, the project brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of partners from Europe and Africa, combining expertise in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, agriculture and innovation. The consortium includes Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Seamless Middleware Technologies (Spain), Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Kenya), MooMe and the University of Sousse (Tunisia), AgroInfoTech Labs (Nigeria), and AUSTRIACARD Holdings (Austria).
Over the next 36 months, BRIDGE-AI will validate its solutions through four pilot cases focused on maize production in Nigeria, mushroom farming in Kenya, pasture forecasting in Tunisia, and pomegranate cultivation in Tunisia. The project also aims to strengthen local digital skills, foster innovation ecosystems and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future for agriculture across Africa.
The BRIDGE-AI consortium looks forward to working together to turn cutting-edge technology into practical solutions that create real impact for farmers and rural communities.
